Red House and Blue House emerged champions in III-V and I-II blocks, respectively, at the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) Annual Athletics Meet for I-V Primary boys section here recently. The event was marked by a string of spectacular performances by the little champions, who were brimming with fervor and spirit of sportsmanship. Principal Sayed Masood Ahmed, IISJ Managing Committee Chairman Mohammed Iqbal, who was the chief guest, other members of the managing committee and school officials graced the event. On the first day, events and competitions for students of III-V Block were held and on the next day, students of I-II block had their innovative and colorful events. The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an followed by the translation. The head prefect welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. The chairman declared the meet open and released balloons, signifying the vibrant hopes of the students flying high. Chief guest took the salute during the march past and sports secretary administered the solemn oath to the house captains. The sports torch was carried by the sports secretary and the house captains. The highlights of the sports day were 200m, 100m, 75m and 50m races, Dressing up to school, Balloon sandwich, 4x100m Relay and various funny races like Cowboy race, Farmer race, Kangaroo race, Frog race etc. The winners were honored by chief guest, members of the managing committee and other dignitaries of the school. — SG
