Published in The Saudi Gazette on 13 - 09 - 2016

JEDDAH — Team captain Ric Reformado made his presence felt when he skippered his side to first Team of the Week accolade, while Joey Calapatia bagged the Male Bowler honors with Sharmaine Patayan claiming the Lady Bowler award at the end of week two of the FEDBG-FMBL 18th meet at Bowling Center here.
Sagmit Dental Clinic was actually eclipsed in the opener and capper games at 1,298-1,265 and 1,191-1,169 with Cesar Pagtalunan giving the most for the Philip Raymundo-captained Pin Down team. But the skillfully orchestrated game two, wherein Reformado ignited with 247, flared up the entire team to a flashy 1,250-1,174 repulsion and have Sagmit Dental Clinic at front in overall at 3,684-3,663 to outpoint Pin Down at 14-8 on the prime proliferation of Calapatia who claimed week's award on handicapped series of 721. Calapatia totaled scratch of 652. Benj Espinosa and Reformado planked Calapatia with 627 and 626, while Jun Estefano, Ding dela Rosa and Santoc shared the rest of their winning scores.
Pagtalunan who paced second to the BOW honor tried blocking Calapatia with 700 total on games of 260, 231 and 208 but with only Marlon Bernabe 660 and Marie Gumpal 605 superbly responding while Med Ramos, Tommy Kamal and Raymundo posted average scores, Sagmit DC made them the second victim of titlist might.
Sharmaine Patayan shared the limelight when she led RL Titan past Superbowl Dozers with lady Bowler of the Week-winning total of 661. Primarily backed by Benjie Cils (620), and Melo Dianco (632), Sharmaine lifted Titans to 22-0 with her games of 204, 268 and 189. Team manager Ryan Liwagon, Nap Patayan and Soren Giurca combined for 1,728 for the Titans to eclipse Superbowl Dozer whose defense was raised most by team captain James Monteleyola (564), Ricky Mendina (550) and James Paulme (536). James Calvo, Pio Valenzuela and Salve Monteleyola hardly met their averages.
Micah's Pride made news by seizing league-leadership via blanking ARCI-5 thanks to Melvin Lising who devastated rivals shield with his outstanding totals of 675 skillfully collected from scratch games of 227, 225 and 223. That inspired Igna Salgado, TM Ester Santoc, Paolo Allego, Nethneth Cerbito and Mart Lising to respectively support with scores of 631, 610, 581, 572 and 547. That outing helped it outscore ARCI-5 at 3,616-3,501. This is despite Marcelo Manalo's and Aileen Miralbuna's thick walling of 624 and 656 to the dismay of team Chief Jay Bengco who tried padding with 583.
Pin Busters of Richard Antonio also emerged jubilant when they leapfrogged from 5th to 3rd place as they caught Cool Guys defenseless that benefited the Babes TIongson-managed team with 43 session points from settlement of 22-0 (3,629-3,143). Antonio with 257 opener skippered with 640 which enthused Ruel Perez, Grace Funtillon and Cloyd Opeña to superbly plank with 691, 618 and 610 with Frank Afurong and Edison Arena adjoining 1,070. Rene Punzalan defended Cool Guys with 628.
In other outings it was: Ekis-9 walloped BCT-JBS at 18-4 (3,545-3,459), FB Rhinos punished Dabarkadz at 20-2 (3,639-3,316) and Kabalen Strikers busted Jeddah Bowlers at 20-2 (3,539-3,480).
