Published in The Saudi Gazette on 10 - 05 - 2016

JEDDAH — All of the six players of Pin Slashers totaled beyond 600 marks to eclipse Four Season on Team of the Week honor-winning aggregate of 3,936, while Cool Guys humbled Trojans with top post-seizing settlement of 18-4 at the conclusion of week 18 of the FEDBG-FMBL 17th meet at the Bowling City here.
Pin Slasher clinched the feat on the outstanding teamwork of captain Dariel Loquias (673), Natty Caringal (717), Roger Daquioag (663), May Lourdes (646), Andy Yumena (624) and Carling Constantino (613) who astonished Four Season.
Caringal posted her fifth best hi-series with handicap for ladies on games of 222, 238 and 253 which Marie Gumpal could only counter with 652 for Four Season. Nevertheless, Gumpal took home the Female Bowler of the Week honor as Caringal has passed the 3-time limit for the accolade.
Gumpal led Four Season with games of 222, 225 and 195 to console her best backups George Mangaliman (636) and TC Rene Ocampo (607) on their depressing outing. Daquioag greatly planked Caringal with scratch sets of 257, 206 and 200 on this most prolific jaunt that moved Pin Slashers to second post on overall standings computed at 620 just a point behind Cool Guys that dominates with 621.
Cool Guys, though third best with 3,727 behind Pin Slashers and Casadores (3,815), also got overwhelmed when Dylan Ilagan's top binging of 677 enabled it to secure the top spot at the expense of Trojans, 18-4. Ilagan, who was concretely backed up by Salic Mudag (650), Lourdes Punzalan (638) and Nezar Alhamwi (621), spearheaded Cool Guys with games 251, 240 and 196.
Cool Guys loosened Trojans' defense with 1,326-1,263 opener with Randy Mata, Ilagan and Mudag propelling with 243, 251 and 228 which despite the 234, 242 and 246 leveling of Hairul, Ruel Peres and Steve Fragata turned more powerful due to cohesive supports.
Trojans was able to pinch back with 1,190-1,180 repulsion on the second set but with Michelle Mata providing essential help, Cool Guys prevailed with 3,727-3,647 including the 1,221-1,194 endgames to the delight of Team captain Jun de Dios.
Sharing limelight was the Casadores team that bred another Bowler of the Week in Marlon Bernabe, who led the Tupe Sayson-managed team into a lopsided match of 22-0 (3,815-3,031) with 712 against the undermanned Marinduqueño. Bernabe raised Casadores banner with games of 261, 220 and 231 inspiring Bing Amolo, Cesar Sacramed, Sharmaine Patayan, Benj Espinosa and Matet Cavite to respectively support him with 611, 666, 623, 630 and 573. Marinduqueño captain James Monteleyola hinted his teammates with leadership of 684 from games of 194, 255 and 235 but to no avail.
In other matches, Ekis-8 edged against Global Intergold 12-10, BCT-Juraifani Pro Shop humbled Lane Axis 18-4, Micah's Pride blanked Sagmit Dental Clinic with Melvin Lising topping the 3,658-3,440 wallop and FB Rhinos emerged victorious against Liquidators 14-8 (3,537-3,477).
