Kanoo downs Kanoo Travel in JCA Premier Cup
JEDDAH – Kanoo Club beat its sister club Kanoo Travel by 8 wickets and Natco International defeated Jawar Al-Jazira by 9 wickets in the 8th week matches of the Premier Division of the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) League.
In the first week matches of the Mini League ACE Travels beat Jawar Al-Jazira by 5 wickets.
Tabrez and Sami Khan shone for Kanoo as Kanoo beat Kanoo Travel. Kanoo Travel scored a respectable total of 182. Dashing opener Kaleem made 30, Muhammad Riaz Chukkan 40, all-rounder Majid Bhatti 30, Ibrahim Bin Mehfooz 20 and Aqeel 20. Sami Khan claimed 4-30. Najamuddin and Majid Sheikh took 2 wickets each for 27 and 32 runs respectively.
In reply, Kanoo reached 183 in the last over with the loss of 2 wickets. Opener Tabrez scored 70 in 36 balls, hardhitting Rashid Khursheed blasted 34 and Sami Khan made 57. Mehmood (1-56) and Riaz (1-16) got the wickets.
Hussain Abbassi's all-round display earned Natco win over Jawar Al-Jazeera. Jawar Al Jazira batted first and put up 141 runs against Natco International Freight Services. The main scorers were Shaan Manzoor 20, Zulfiqar 15, Asim 30, Adnan 10 and Tariq 12. Fast bowler Attaur Rehman claimed 2-30. Spin bowlers Hussain Abbasi (3-36) and Imran (3-28 ) were the other wicket-takers.
In reply, Natco rmade 143-1 in 14.7 overs. Hussain Abbasi who had taken 3 wickets hit a match-winning 66 not out and wicketkeeper and opening batsman Ather Ali made a quickfire 55. Zahid took 1-38.
Jawar Al-Jazira, batting first, was all out for 191 in the allotted 30 overs. Opener Shaan Manzoor hit 41 in 24 balls, Sajid Ali 32, Javed 20, Rashid Ali 31 and Adnan 26. Athar Abdul Quddus took 3-24, Naveed 3-25, Kamran 3-33, Wajid Samdani 1-35.
In reply, Ace Travel reached 194-5 in 23 overs. Ather Abdul Quddus made the highest with 60, Wajid Samdani 54, Naveed 30 and Rahil 11. Shaan Manzoor hclaimed 2-27, Tariq 1-27, Ramzan 1-28 and Adnan 1-46.
