Babar Toor Cricket team beat an experienced Kanoo Travel team by 2 wickets in the SIPCO Premier Division final and lifted the winner's trophy for the first time in JCA. This championship which was organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA), was sponsored by Saudi Industrial Projects Company (SIPCO) . The final was a tussle between Hashim Khan and Kanoo Travel. The loser opted to bat first and reached a respectable total of 182-9 in the allotted 20 overs. Kanoo got a jolt when its star batsman Wahajuddin was out for just 4. The other opener Syed Kaleem played patiently for 37 valuable runs. Wajid Samdani added 20 but Ather Abdul Quddus made a classic 50. Abdul Rehman and veteran Zahid Khan then made 20 runs each. Imran Choudhary and Anwar claimed three wickets each for Babar Toor-XI while Hashim Khan got one. Babar Toor-XI, in reply, suffered a big blow as its consistent opener Imran Choudhary made just 10. But the other opener Hashim Khan blasted 78 runs while wickets kept falling at the other end. Then Adnan Butt 19 and Abdul Rehman made 13 runs to win the final. Wahajuddin claimed 2-40, Riaz Chukkan 2-32 and Imran took 1-38. Azizullah Sharif anchored the prize distribution function which was held soon after the final. JCA vice president Aijaz Ahmed Khan gave a detailed account of the tournament and thanked the sponsors and the media. The guests who attended the final were JCA vice chairman Humayun Farooq, Chris De Klerk, GM, Gedac Company, Syed Ashfaque Hussain of ACE Travels and Ather Abdul Quddus, Khalid Ahmed Sayoti and Syed Aiman Azim of SIPCO. Medals wee also awarded to umpires Zahid Khan, Kumar Krishnan and Atta Ur Rehman. A special service award was given to Amjad Mehmood. A plaque of appreciation was awarded to the sponsors' representatives Khalid Ahmed Sayoti and Syed Aiman Azim.
