RIYADH – The Border Guard in Najran Province foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of hashish on Wednesday. The security personnel, during the scrutiny of several people as they were trying to enter the Kingdom by crossing the borders at Siqam Sector, netted the haul. The tight surveillance and immaculate search of the people crossing into the Kingdom resulted in the arrest of one of the smugglers – an Ethiopian national. The security men also found 193 kg of hashish. The arrested man and the seized quantity of hashish were handed over to the pertinent authorities so as to take the necessary measures, Navy Col. Saher Bin Muhammad Al-Harbi, spokesman of the Border Guard said.
