Ekis and Casadores on top

JEDDAH — The all-600 and up totals of all Ekis-8 fighting six, with Zaldy Bacero once more leading with 742 for his second Bowler of the Week honor horribly chilled Cool Guys to be dislodged from the league-leadership letting BCT-JBS Pro Shop to seize top.
Casadores shared the limelight with its second Team of the Week accolade which concluded week 23 of the FEDBG-FMBL 17th meet at Bowling City here.
With the Cool Guys pressured to defend the league supremacy, Ekis faced it with the notion of stiffening its hold on the fourth spot. Fielding Bacero, Rey Beltran and Faisal Relativo against counterparts Randy Mata, Rene Punzalan and Nezar Alhamwi, Ekis lost in threesome frontier at 720-730 but favored by support trio of TC/TM Ernie Geaslani, Jimmy Mandingiado and Alma Bacero who outscored Lourdes Punzalan, Michelle Mata and TC Jun de Dios at 626-580 to take Game One at 1,346-1,310.
Such a loss weakened the defense of Cool Guys letting Ekis follow up with 1,140-1,227. Sensing Cool Guys were on their coolest, Ekis picked more points at 3,840-3,634 including game-ender of 1,267-1,184 against the team which had been the flag bearer for several weeks.
Ekis scored a perfect 22-0 with Bacero leading the board with scratch games of 267, 216 and 259. Geslani, Beltran, Relativo, Mandingiado and Alma Bacero supported with games of 606, 625, 620, 624 and 623. Michelle Mata and Alhamwi topped Cool Guys shield with 655 and 654.
Casadores' trek for this week's dominance was a 20-2 control of the undermanned Trojans with Matet Cavite leading the Tope Sayson-managed team with her second lady Bowler of the Week honor-winning series of 697.
Cavite guided Casadores with scratch totals of 640 from games of 208, 223 and 209. With Cavite given superb supports by teammates, Casadores, after losing the entrance game scratch at 1,103-1,116, swept the remaining matches at 1,230-1,180, 1,352-1,178 and 1,269-1,160 to seal the 3,851-3,518 triumph. Greatly supporting Cavite was Rick Tibayan whose 681 total was decorated with 257 hi-game scratch.
With Tibayan backing up Cavite were co-captain Tommy Kamal (640), Sharmaine Patayan (627), Bing Amolo (607) and Marlon Bernabe (599). Nestor Sañosa and Cloyd Opeña defended Trojans with 668 and 658 with Edison Arena, Ed Sardiña and Grace Funtillon planking with 598, 593 and 598, respectively.
In other matches: Sagmit Dental Clinic defeated Global Intergold 18-4, Micah's Pride beat Four Season 18-4, Pin Slasher trounced Lane Axis 20-2, Liquidators blanked Marinduqueños and BCT-JBS Pro Shop trashed FB Rhinos.
