Centuries galore in WPCA Afternoon

JEDDAH — Amir Sajjad steered Friends, Hasanat and Shahzad helped Al-Safri, Qamar Awan and Amjad performed for ALS Warriors and Rashid sparkled for Waqas Malik in the Summer Afternoon matches played here at WPCA.
Al-Safri XI thrashed El Seif Eng. Co. by 159 runs. Al-Safri racked up mammoth 225 for 4 thanks to a fine century by Hasanat Ahmed, who blasted an unbeaten 113 in 75 balls. He first added 140 for the 3rd wicket with Muneeb Anwar (51) and then 62 with Aftab Malik (22). Zeeshan took 2-27 and Amjad Khan 2-29. El Seif crashed for 66. Shahzad Asif was the wrecker-in-chief with 5 wickets for 10 runs. Manjeet Kumar claimed 3-14. Maqsood hit 21.
Lothers defeated NNG Sports by 9 wickets. NNG Sports was restricted to 123 for 9. Kausar made 20, Mubashir 54 and Javeed 23. Rashid bagged 3 for 6, Yasar 2-29 and Suraj 2-13. Lothers, in reply, took 52 balls to get to the target of 126 for the loss of one wicket. Yasar hit an unbeaten 52 as he added match-winning 93 for the unbroken second wicket with Shamsudddin, who remained unbeaten on 42. Badushah earlier made 21.
Friends XI had the last laugh against Jotun Paints by 6 wickets. Jotun Paints produced 200 for 6. Shahid smashed 71 in 38 balls (5 fours and 5 sixes) as he first added 48 with Shabbir (18) and then 78 with Mazhar (40).
Mohammed Shafiq remained unbeaten on 28. Wajahat Shah took 2-37. Friends XI was home (201) in 90 balls for the loss of 4 wickets. Amir Sajjad blasted 120 in 45 balls with 7 sixes and 14 fours, Anis Malik added 18, Omer 33 and Niyas Ahmed 18 not out. Nasir took 2-36.
ALS Warriors humbled Thales Group by all 10 wickets. Thales Group posted 138 for 9. Mohammed made 31, Imran 31 and Junaid 26. Amjad Jutt was the main destroyer with 6-23 and Safi 2-38. ALS Warriors had rampaging Qamar Awan hitting 7 sixes and 12 boundaries to compile 100 off 32 balls. He added 144 with Emad (40 not out).
AOT trounced UCC by 5 wickets. UCC posted 160 for 4 with Ali scoring 40, Irfan Ghulam 20, Sarfaraz Ahmed 52 and Jamil 39.
AOT reached the winning target of 161 for 5 in 106 balls. Aqeel hit 22, Qaiser 41, Naeem Shah unbeaten 34 and Maqsood 40 not out after they were in trouble at 12-3. Shahnawaz Khan took 2-15 and Saeed 2-33.
Waqas Malik XI prevailed over Marine Services by 63 runs. Waqas Malik XI amassed 235 for 3. Waqas made 16 and Hafiz 47. Rana Haroon hammered an unbeaten 53 and Rashid an unbeaten 90. Marine Services had a fine start by Majid (104) as he added 125 with Naseer (35). Batsmen to follow could not keep up the tempo and the team was stranded at 172 for 9. Danish took 2-6 and Tauseef 2-21.
Crown Steel won against OMD Tuskers by 7 wickets. OMD Tuskers was restricted to 121 for 9. Yashik Alangad hit 30, Shafeeq Saleem 18 and Shabeeb 20. Ghulam Riyaz took 3-16 and Wahid Khan 2-18. Crown Steel reached the target of 123 for 3 in 68 balls. Anwaar Chandi stroked 47 and Mazhar Abbasi an unbeaten 47.
Nestle Milo downed AMI Juffali by 10 wickets. AMI Juffali was restricted to 107 for 7. Shuboor made 18, Shabbir 29, Hisham 17 and Zafar 18. Fahad took 3-27 and Ehsan Noni 2-16. Nestle Milo got to the winning target of 108 without loss in 48 balls as Abdullah Zahid smashed an unbeaten 60 and Ejaz Butt 29 not out.
