JEDDAH — Awesome XI thumped NNG Sports, Al-Safri XI edged past Lothers, IDB prevailed over Friends XI, ALS Warriors downed APF, Crown Steel crushed AMI Juffali, Waqas Malik XI beat Nestle Milo and Zultrack won against UCC in the WPCA Summer Afternoon Tourney here recently.
Awesome XI downed NNG Sports by 7 wickets. NNG Sports was bowled out for 143. Nabeel was the top scorer with 41 as he added 66 with Kausar (16). Saleem hit 18, Bilawal 15 and Mubashir 15. Haris scalped 5 for 18 and Ashfaq 2-25. Awesome XI, in reply, got to the winning target of 144 for 3 in 75 balls. Shakir compiled 34, Abdulrehman 41 as the duo added 67. Waqas Lala stroked 45. Abdulkaleem took 2-17.
Al-Safri had the better of Lothers by 5 runs. Al-Safri, put into bat, piled up 175 for 9. Hasanat Ahmed blasted a fantastic 94 in 51 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes as he added 73 with Aftab Malik (6). Waseem Imran and Manjeet Kumar added 19 each. Suraj took 3 for 34, Pradeep 2-29, Faisal 2-21 and Badushah 2-37. Lothers fell short by 5 runs to be stranded at 170 for 7. Yasar remained unbeaten on 80 off 46 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes as he added 57 runs with Shamsuddin (22). Badushah hit 23 and Asif 20. Aftab Malik took 2-27, Shahzad Asif 2-34.
IDB defeated Friends XI by 57 runs. IDB racked up 206 for 6. Khawar Sohail batted magnificently to notch up a hundred studded with 12 fours and 3 sixes. He added 66 with Usman Gulab (8). Rahat Ali Chaudhry contributed 19 and Mohammed Farook remained unbeaten on 42. Faizan took 2-11. Friends XI, in reply, was stranded at 149. Muzaffar stroked 44 and Faizan 21. Khawar Sohail scalped 3 for 29, Abdullah Shah 2-32, Mohammed Farooq 2-29 and Usman Gulab 2-11.
ALS Warriors trounced APF by 5 wickets. APF produced 159 for 8. Ali made 27, Gulzar 21, Yasir 37 not out and Hasnain 17 not out. Safiuddin grabbed 4 wickets for 19 and Amjad Jutt 2-29. ALS, in reply, reached the target of 160 for 5 in 81 balls. Qamar Awan was in awesome touch as he blasted 6 fours and 4 sixes to compile 55 in 18 balls. He added 81 with Emadudduin (17). Talha contributed 45.
Crown Steel thrashed AMI Juffali by 6 wickets. AMI Juffali posted 141 for 9. Rafi Gujjar was the top scorer with 52. Imad (19) and Shabbir (21) also made useful contribution. Ghulam Riaz grabbed 3-20 and Shoaib 2-26. Crown Steel, in chase, reached the target of 145 for 4 in 75 balls. Skipper Shafeeq Ahmed stroked 44 and Shoaib Ali 28. Javed Iqbal (31 not out) and Murtuza (23) were the other main contributors. Skipper Najam Uzbak grabbed 3-44.
Waqas Malik XI prevailed over Nestle Milo by 2 wickets. Nestle Milo posted 157 for 6. Bilal Malik notched up an unbeaten 80 as he added 64 with Azeem (37). Imran Sarwar made 16. Zahur took 2-18 and Junaid 2-43. Waqas Malik XI reached the winning target of 158 for 8 with one ball to spare. Azeem blasted 94 in 60 balls with 12 fours as he added match-winning 86 runs with Tauseef (21). Rashid added 19. Ijaz Butt took 2-24.
UCC posted 167 for 5 in 20 overs. Zultrack scored 169 for 5 in 116 balls to win by 5 wickets with 4 balls to spare.
