A total of 120 judges will soon qualify from the High Judicial Institute of Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University, to take up positions at the country's newly-established courts. Dr. Abdul Rahman Bin Slama Al-Mazini, Director of the institute, said the judges will assume positions in the new commercial, labor and penal courts. “The institute had the help of local and overseas experts to conduct the two-month courses,” Al-Mazini said. The 12 experts came from Morocco, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey to teach the judges, he added. The Saudi judges now have knowledge to help them perform their new tasks, he said. The institute is waiting for approval from King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for the new development plan which will introduce sweeping changes to the institute and increase its capacity, he added. “The institute has signed several agreements with judicial bodies in France and Germany to exchange expertise. This will reflect positively on the institute and its graduates.” Al-Mazini said that Dr. Khaled Bin Muhammad Al-Anqari, Minister of Higher Education, approved the events which the institute will hold in some European countries. This is to promote the Saudi judiciary and respond to false accusations aimed at damaging its image. These events will prove that the Saudi judiciary system is impartial and fair, he pointed out. On the development plan, Al-Mazini said the high commission of the institute will be tasked with development activities. __
