Hospital evacuated as fire breaks out

Patients and staff were evacuated from Al-Hamadi Hospital after a fire broke out at the premises on Sunday. Riyadh Health Affairs Directorate reported an electrical fault at one of the hospital's clinics as the source of the fire. The directorate evacuated 35 patients, including 18 in the intensive care unit. All patients were immediately transferred to other hospitals in close vicinity while the Civil Defense personnel extinguished the fire. No injuries were recorded.
Amphetamine pills seized
YANBU — Custom authorities seized a total of 64,165 amphetamine pills found in possession of a traveler arriving in the Kingdom. Yanbu Custom Control Director General Saad Al-Bugamy said the traveler arrived by plane at Prince Abdulmohsen Bin Abdulaziz Airport carrying four cans of food with 64,165 amphetamine pills hidden in them. The cans were found in the traveler's personal belongings as he was going through inspection. The pills were seized and the man was arrested.
Two Africans held over multiple thefts
JEDDAH — Two Africans were arrested over multiple thefts from houses and apartments that had been reported to police. Makkah Police spokesman Col. Ati Al-Qurashi said the suspects had a pattern of only breaking into the ground and first floors of buildings so they would leave little trace. The police were able to track the pattern of the suspects and their movements until officers caught them red-handed. Police said one of the men would break into the house while the other would stand as a lookout.
4 Asians arrested for for stealing cables
BURAIDAH — The police arrested four Asian expatriates for stealing electric cables. Qassim Police spokesman Capt. Badr Al-Suhaibani said police stopped a suspicious car for inspection after it approached the exit to Al-Ras governorate. Officers found a box of copper wires inside the car and contacted a Saudi Electricity Company representative who said that the cables matched the description of those reported missing or stolen. The police arrested the expatriates for theft and the case has been forwarded to the pertinent authority.
Drifter arrested in Qurayyat
QURAYYAT, AL-JOUF — The traffic police arrested a known drifter for committing multiple traffic violations. Qurayyat Traffic Department director Col. Abdulaziz Al-Biraithi said the traffic police had been chasing a drifter in his 20s dubbed "Sanfour Al-Shamal" for the last 10 days. Al-Biraithi said the young man has a past record of several violations and had removed the license plate from his car to avoid detection. — Okaz/Saudi Gazette
