At least 25 people were injured when a bus carrying college students collided with another vehicle on Tihamah Highway in Al-Hujrah governorate on Tuesday. Baha Civil Defense spokesman Jamaan Al-Ghamdi said the driver of the second vehicle died and 24 students were injured in the accident. The students were between the ages of 18 and 24. The driver of the bus was also injured. The victims were transported to a nearby hospital. Fourteen of the injured students discharged later as their injuries were not serious. Tabuk Custom Control officer Mohammad Al-Aboush said the Customs officers were going through their usual inspection routine at Al-Durrah checkpoint when one vehicle caught their suspicion. After a thorough inspection, the officers discovered amphetamine pills hidden inside one of the vehicle's compartments. The pills were wrapped in layers of foil and nylon, but the officers managed to seize them. 3 teens arrested for vandalism TABUK — Police arrested three teenage boys for random acts of vandalism and theft. Tabuk Police spokesman Lt. Gen. Khalid Al-Ghabban said the boys smashed the glass windows of 13 cars parked in a school parking lot. They were caught red-handed and were taken to the police station for further questioning. The boys also had in their possession eight stolen cell phones. They also attempted to steal a car but police showed up on time. The boys confessed to all charges and were put in a protection home until further notice. Eastern Province Civil Defense spokesman Mansour Al-Dowsari said the Civil Defense received reports of a fire in a three-story building with eight apartments in Al-Bayouniyah District. The fire was confined to the ground floor only. All residents of the building were evacuated from the rooftop. The firemen extinguished the fire and five residents were injured. Four of the victims were women. Two of the injured were treated on the spot and three were taken to hospital. Anti-govt activist gets 8 years in jail RIYADH — The Criminal Court sentenced a man to eight years in prison for anti-government activities and calling for a public demonstration. The court said the man belonged to a group called Hasm, which calls for anti-government demonstrations in public squares. The man also insulted the judges and religious scholars of the Kingdom on Twitter.
