Dunes International School Al Khobar laid another yardstick for the prestigious international schools in the Eastern Province with its splendid 5th Annual Sports Day. Mohammed Al Badi, CEO Midad Holdings, was the chief guest and Saad Tarin, deputy chairman Al Tarais, and Mrs. Nadeem Tarin, patron of Dunes International School, were the guests of honor.
The heads of international schools and veterans in sports were among the distinguished guests. It came out to be a decidedly successful event of the academic year 2015-16 with zealous participants and a huge assembly of parents who witnessed the magnificent show.
Dunes has always been acknowledged for its excellence in academics and surpassing co-curricular activities since its inception. Its state-of-the-art infrastructure, spacious playground for all type of sports and dedicated faculty are unparalleled in the Eastern Region. The success story of the school in merely five years of its establishment has been scripted by the core squad of the school management, Director Amjad Khan, Director Awad Al Qahtani and Director Academics Dr. Saleem ur Rehman .
The beginning of the day was marked with customary recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an followed by march past. Each of the four houses Sahara, Arabian, Thar and Tabernas reflected their harmony, belongingness and strength through synchronized mass movements presenting the replica of marching troops.
Principal Dharminder Manon highlighted the achievements of school and its students in his welcome address. The motivating torch relay by the captains and welcome garlands by the tiny tots of KG section was applauded thunderously. Among all the other praiseworthy performances, the ones that gained greatest applauses were Aerobics and Zumba fitness shows where the little limbs of KG section moved in tune with music.
The fire to win could be easily observed even among the littlest ones during their funny races. A tough competition reigned throughout the races in upper primary, middle & senior school categories. Incessant cheering echoed from spectator galleries throughout the event.

The Headmaster Mohammed Aamir Khan offered ceremonial vote of thanks at the close of the meet.
The girls section organized the annual sports day the following day with equal fervor and pomp.
