JEDDAH — Khak-e-Taiba Trust (KTT), a Jeddah-based organization, honored two prominent Indian entrepreneurs here recently. Mohammed Rafeeq, a Riyadh-based CEO of Mumtaz Group of Companies and owner of a chain of fast-food restaurants in Jeddah, and Afzal Hussain Sheikh, a diversified businessman and chairman of ALS Group, were honored by trust. KTT President Ahmed Abdul Hakeem addressed the gathering and commended the exemplary services extended by both these entrepreneurs. He said both ‘have made the community proud'. Hakeem observed that these two gentlemen had offered their assistances on numerous occasions and urged the community members to come forward and join hands together for a common social cause. While welcoming KTT's mission of eradicating illiteracy among the deprived section of the society, Rafeeq said: "I was overwhelmed to learn about the various literary projects and would like to associate myself for this social cause." However, he categorically felt the need to include physically handicapped children in the literacy drive to help them to be in par with the normal students and thus make education an effective tool to eliminate poverty. Fazal Sheikh also expressed his thoughts and aimed to do more to support KTT in its endeavors and to be a part of this social cause. Computer Director Imran Kausar presented a detail PowerPoint presentation of all the KTT activities in Jeddah and back-home in Hyderabad that added much valuable treasure of information for the visiting dignitaries. The Overseas Trustee & Patron of the organization, Mohammad Shameem Kausar, made a fervent appeal to expand KTT wings to the other cities within the Kingdom and for this, Shameem said: "Our first move would be towards Riyadh wherein a substantial number of Indians reside and so through these two notable icons of the community we hope to venture and popularize our mission in the capital city of Saudi Arabia". Trustee Aijaz Ahmed Khan; Vice-President (Finance) Mahmood Balsharaf also addressed the gathering. The Trustee and General Secretary Syed Khaja Viqaruddin gave a brief description about trust activities while compering the program.
