Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Consulate General of Pakistan beat Pakistan Journalist Forum (PJF) by 7 wickets in the Hamid Rasheed Memorial Cricket match at the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) Eskan Grounds Friday. Hamid Rasheed, 48, was Sport Administrator at Pakistan International School Jeddah (English Section). PJF skipper Jamil Rathore won the toss and elected to bat first. PJF tallied 48 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 12 overs. Yaheya Ashfaq top scored with 17. Naeem, Nadeem and Asif Memon took 3, 3 and 2 wickets, respectively. Pakistan Consulate staff team achieved the target in 10.3 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Abubaker scored 13. Waqar Jameel took 2 wickets. Shehryar Akbar Khan, Consul General of Pakistan was the chief guest. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion included Tariq Mashkhas, editor-in-chief, Urdu News; Junaid Iskander, former captain of Saudi Arabian cricket team and president of WPCA; and Zulfiqar Choudhry, CEO of WPCA. Amir Mohammed Khan, chairman PJF, welcomed guests and dignitaries. He thanked WPCA for helping to organize event. Chief guest Khan awarded the winner's trophy to Pakistan Consulate team skipper and Deputy Consul General Asif Memon and the Player of the Match award to Yaheya Ashfaq. A large crowd of Hamid Rasheed's friends and fans attended the event. Ghufran and Ahsan supervised the match.
