Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) organized its annual prize distribution ceremony, which was attended by a host of dignitaries, recently. Zaighamuddin Azam, Consul General of Pakistan, was the chief guest. Asian Cricket Council's (ACC) Development Officer Iqbal Sikander, Pakistan's star batsman Younis Khan, Indian rising star Yousuf Pathan and Saudi Cricket Center's (SCC) Chief Executive Nadeem Nadwi graced the function. Chief Guest Azam congratulated the winners, runner-ups and star performers and also encouraged the other participating teams and players. He also appreciated the efforts of WPCA and SCC in promoting the game in the Kingdom. Sikander, while praising SCC for preparing a natural turf wicket at Saudi Cricket Academy (SACA), Jeddah, underlined the need for more and more infrastructure to develop the game here. Nadwi appealed all regional associations to work together for the development of the game in Saudi Arabia. Younis Khan and Yousuf Pathan presented the trophies to the teams and performers while WPCA President Junaid Iskandar and Administrator Zulfiqar Ali Choudhry handed over the souvenirs to chief guest and other honorable guests. Iskandar thanked the Saudi Pan Gulf for sponsoring the activities of WPCA.
