Kanoo, Natco, Hijaz, Abideen win

JEDDAH: Kanoo Travel beat Jeddah Projects Cricket Team by 8 runs, Natco International gained a 5-wicket win over ACE Travels, Sultan Al-Abideen downed Babar Toor by 13 runs and Hijaz-XI won by 35 runs over Zinda Tilismat of Hyderabad Indian-XI in the 6th week matches of JCA Premier Division, which is sponsored by the Kanoo Group of Companies and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
Batting first Kanoo Travel scored 203-5 in the allotted 18 overs against Jeddah Projects Cricket Club. Openers Syed Kaleem 33 and Mazhar Ali 17 gave a good start. Later the middle order batsmen Muhammad Riyaz Chukkan 36, Zahid Khan 32, skipper Akbar Ali 22 not out consolidated the score. Veteran Haroon Abdullah hit an unbeaten 31 in just 8 deliveries with 3 sixes and 2 fours. Fast bowler Mujahed took 3-59 and Jeelan had 1-17 for JPCC.
In reply, JPCC got a jolt as it lost three wickets in the first over of Kanoo Travel's skipper Akbar with a hat trick. He claimed Kaleem, Shareef and Asif in his fourth, fifth and sixth deliveries. However, Parvez Abid stood firm and struck a classic 73 off 43 balls. Ahsan produced a quickfire 62 off just 18 balls. But the team fell for 196 and lost the match by 8 runs. Akbar Ali 3-16, Haroon Abdullah 1-41 and Imran 1-41 were the main wicket-takers.
ACE Travels batting first was collapsed for a meager total of 139 against Natco International. Irfan 26, Anwar Khan 23, Ismail 20, Hilal 15 not out and Imran 13 were the run getters for ACE Travels. Aijaz Ahmed Khan 1-31, Mumrez Khan 2-28, Ashique Ali 2-25, Jehangir 2-22, Ali 2-13 and Hyder Ali 1-23 were the wicket-takers for Natco.
In reply, Natco reached 140-5 in 12.4 overs. Ather Ali scored 44, Chand, Ali and Jahangir scored 19 runs each. Parvez hit 16. Ashfaque and Bilal took 2 wickets while Abdullah got one.
Sultan Al Abideen-XI batting first scored 197-6 against Babar Toor. Mohammad Irfan Qureshi made the highest 36. Hazrath Ali scored 32, Wasay, Zameer 23 and Fakhar 26 not out. Mohammad Bhatti and Imran claimed 2 wickets each while Abdul Rehman got one.
In reply, Babar Toor made 184-9 through Zahid Bhatti 42, Adnan Butt 26, Majid Bhatti 21, Nadeem 17, Uzair 17, Abdul Rehman 14 and Imran 7. Abdul Rehman, Yousuf and Zuhair A Rehman took 2 wickets each.
Batting first Hijaz-XI scored 216-4 against the Zinda Tilismat of Hyderabad India. Opener skipper Talha Qulani made a quickfire 44 off just 20 balls while his opening partner Wajid Samdani hit 66 off just 36 balls. Ayaz fallowed the openers with 44 in 30 balls. Others who shown form with the bat were Naveed 21 in 10 balls, Athar Abdul Quddus 15 off 6 balls and Baba Amoudi 9. Mohammad Sadathullah claimed 2-42, Sarfaraz 1-18 and Nazeer 1-31.
In reply Tilismat cricketers could make only 182-4. Irfan hit 51 in 34 balls, Zaman 50 in 23 balls, Nazeer 40 and 17 runs each by Javed Ahmed and Mohammad Sadathullah. Saeed Amoudi, Naveed, Talha Qulani and Saeed Balm claimed one wicket each. __
