Gang of thieves busted By Ibrahim Alawi JEDDAH – Police on Monday arrested five persons believed to be involved in stealing car parts, bags and mobile phone sets. The four Chadians and one Arab were led by a Chadian teenager named Apolo who has a criminal record. The police arrested the suspects after deploying a number of patrols at specified locations in various districts following reports of cars being broken into and bags and mobile phones being snatched. Officers at Al-Aziziah District spotted a small car with a passenger who stuck his arm out of the window and snatched a mobile phone set from an Arab expatriate walking on the street. The officers arrested the suspects in the car after which other gang members were apprehended. They all confessed and are being investigated, spokesman Col. Misfer Al-Juaid said. – Okaz/SG Online fraudster to be tried By Adnan Al-Shabrawi JEDDAH – The Summary Court in Jeddah will begin next week trying a 25-year-old man on charges of defrauding another man online and stealing SR25,000 from his bank account. Sources said the suspect pretended to be a girl nicknamed Bint Al-Shamal and met the victim in a chat room and made friends with him. The suspect was able to trick the victim into revealing his bank account number and password during one of the chat sessions. – Okaz/SG Body of flood victim found By Ahmad Al-Atawi TABUK – Rescue teams here found on Monday the body of a Border Guards member who was drowned in recent floods in Tabuk. The body was spotted floating on the water near Thalbah Valley by a helicopter which informed land teams. Border Guards information director Major Abdullah Al-Gurair said the body is still unidentified as it was in the water for eight days making some of the features unrecognizable. – Okaz/SG Saudi beheaded for killing mother, brother RIYADH – A Saudi man was beheaded Monday in the western city of Taif after being convicted of killing his mother and brother, the Interior Ministry said. The mother and brother were burned to death, and a sister was injured, after Muhammad Al-Sehimi set his family's home on fire as a result of an argument, the ministry said in a statement.
