JEDDAH: The police arrested four suspected car thieves recently at a suspected chop-shop in a walled-off area in Al-Khumra District south of the city where dozens of cars were found. The four were caught red-handed dismantling a car. The police are working on determining the owners of the cars and said the vehicles could be stolen or taken from the street after being abandoned. One of the arrested – all of the same nationality – is a legal resident while the others are illegals, according to Jeddah Police spokesman Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid. Two of them dismantled the cars while the legal resident and the other person brought the cars from different sources. The police raided the walled-off area after a period of surveillance.
