The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah received at the Royal Court at Al-Salam palace in Jeddah, Tuesday, princes, Ulema, senior protocol officials, senior civil and military officials and others who came to greet him and congratulate him on the blessed month of Ramadan. — SPABy Joe Avance?a Saudi Gazette DAMMAM – Some 40 cultural organizations, sports clubs, and literary and arts clubs in the Eastern Province have joined the Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Companies Series 2011, an annual event highlighting the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, to showcase their respective activities and accomplishments. The event kicked off Tuesday at the Green Hall of the Presidency of Youth Welfare at the Dammam Sports City. It will run for 17 days until 19 Ramadan. Among the shows and presentations are an exhibition of rare photos chronicling significant strides and events in the Eastern Province, a traditional village, the making of traditional crafts, such as weaving and pottery, sports competitions, and evenings of cultural presentations. Admission is free. Many prizes will also be given away to the audience. Leading industrial companies, banks, hospitals, drug firms, educational institutions, and commercial establishments are sponsoring and supporting the occasion by donating their products and services. The Asharqia Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the event, which is being held for the fourth year. “This year, we received more participating teams and clubs, as well as companies volunteering to be sponsors,” Abdulrahman Bin Abdullah Al-Wabel, secretary general of the Asharqia Chamber, said during the inauguration of the event. __
