Dr. Shuwaish Bin Saud Al-Dhuwaihi, Minister of Housing, said he is ready to be held accountable if housing plans are not implemented, but that accountability depends on the availability of land. “The ministry is ready to implement all plans and complete infrastructure work such as electricity, water and road services,” he said. In a statement to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, Dr. Al-Dhuwaihi said the mechanism used to distribute residential units was designed using proper standards to determine the actual housing needs of citizens. Reaching the goals related to the housing plans depends on standards, he said. “The designs of residential units have met the citizens' needs in terms of providing sufficient land for each citizen,” he said.
