The man reaches into the vehicle. JEDDAH: A bank's surveillance camera in Jeddah's Al-Sharafiah District recorded a man stealing an envelope from a businessman's car, according to authorities. The businessman offered a SR30,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who stole his money. The video shows a man discreetly following his victim until he entered a bank building in Madina Road, near Al-Sharafiah District; the theft; and the suspect's escape, authorities said. The businessman left the envelope in his SUV and entered the bank, but he was not aware he was being followed, according to police sources. When the businessman returned to his vehicle, he was shocked to find that its window had been smashed and a large amount of money had been stolen, sources added. The video clips show the suspect removing a piece of iron to smash the glass window, taking the envelope, concealing it under his clothes, getting in a car and driving away. The businessman told bank officials about the incident and called authorities. A Criminal Investigations Department team lifted fingerprints from the SUV and investigators checked the video clips, which showed the suspect's movements, officials said. The suspect wore a white shirt and black pair of trousers, police said. Brig. Gen. Misfir Al-Je'aid, official spokesman for Jeddah Police, said police received a report about the theft and the suspect's description was taken.
