A video game buff who stole 20 cars and sold them on for spare parts, learned his craft on a popular video game, police in Jeddah have said. The teenager, who managed to steal four cars in one day alone, reportedly told police that he had honed his thieving skills on the PlayStation game “Grand Theft Auto”, from which he learnt tips on how to evade capture. The stolen vehicles, which have since been returned, were taken from outside their owners' places of residence in eastern Jeddah districts of Nuzlatain, and Jame'a. Authorities were first informed of the suspect's activities in dealing spare parts, after which his fingerprints were found at the scenes of his crimes. Upon interrogation, the thief led police to his accomplices who bought the stolen parts and sold them on via a shop they had opened in the Ghulail district.
