JEDDAH: Police are investigating possible connections between two Chadians recently arrested for stealing SR50,000 from a bank customer and a series of other thefts in Makkah. Police said that the pair was caught after they lay in wait out side a bank and then followed a customer by car to Sitteen Street where he then entered another bank. While inside, the two men broke into his car and took a case containing the money from beneath a seat. An alert was issued to police across the zone and the two suspects were traced to the Al-Nuzla District in Jeddah where they were detained. Jeddah Police spokesman Misfir Al-Ju'aid warned the public not to carry around large quantities of cash. “People should use security guards working in the transportation of large amounts of money, as per instructions from the Ministry of Interior,” he said.
