JEDDAH: Nestle Milo beat Arif Gymkhana by 77 runs as United C.C. thrashed Crown Blue by 9 wickets, Al-Safri downed Jotun Paints, Usman Gems Green defeated Usman Gems Warriors and Contraco beat Pak Eleven in the WPCA Summer Afternoon Tournament here in Jeddah.
Usman Gems Green skipper Iqbal blasted 100 runs in 55 balls studded with 16 fours to get to the winning target of 188 for 3 in just 101 balls against Usman Gems Warriors as Kashan made 37 and Irfan 29.
Earlier Usman Gems Warriors batting first made 186 for 9 as Saleem made 67 in 37 balls with 10 fours and a six and Nadeem Shabbir made 39. Abdulqader took 2-24, Kashan 2-34 and Iqbal 2-38.
Crown Blue batted first against United to post 192 all out as skipper Murtuza smashed 83 in 32 balls with the help of 10 fours and 2 huge sixes as Tauseef made 44 and Imran Nasir 28. Shahzad Rana grabbed 5 wickets for 44 runs for Usman Gems Warriors.
In reply United scored 194 for 1 in just 100 balls through Aftab Khan who blasted unbeaten 102 in 48 balls with 19 fours as Shahnawaz smashed unbeaten 71 in 37 balls (7 fours and 4 sixes) and together they put an unbroken 152-run partnership for the second wicket.
Al-Safri batting first against Jotun Paints racked up 218 for 5 in 20 overs as Rehan made 56 in 27 balls, Shahid 53 in 36 balls and Manjeet made 40.
In response Jotun was stranded at 171 for 8 thus beaten by 47 runs as Mazhar made 36, Ijaz 33 and Saif 31. Waseq Sherwani grabbed 3-32, Umar 2-14 and Abid 2-28.
Contraco against Pak Eleven piled up 174 for 6 through Irafn who took 34 balls and 8 fours and 2 sixes to compile 67 as opener Nasar made 33. Faiyyaz got 2-33.
Pak Eleven chasing was restricted to 109 as Irfan grabbed 3-17 and Shahzad 3-22 to bundle them out as only Yassir hit 36.
Nestle Milo batting first against Arif Gymkhana lost Faheem for nought but after that it was the day of Asim who blasted 106 not out in 57 balls studded with 6 magnificent sixes and 9 fours and Awais who plundered unbeaten 100 with the help of 15 fours and 2 sixes off 50 balls to add together 252 for the second wkt. Abdullah Zahid coming to the crease as Awais retired hurt played 9 balls to hit 20 not out.
Arif Gymkhana in reply batted awfully as they were reduced to 6 down for 83 by Taimoor who took 4 wkts for 35 and Faiyyaz 2-15 to bowl out them for 177. Only Ajlan scoring 57 as Tanveer made 25. __
