Usman Ali, Faheem, Saboor and Islam excel in WPCA

JEDDAH: Dopco Stars thrashed Usman Gems by 53 runs as Crown Steel downed Zultrack by 8 wickets and Nestle Milo, AMI Juffali, Jotun and Arif Gymkhana won their respective matches in the WPCA Summer Tournament.
The tournament, sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center, is being played at WPCA.
In the Summer Premier T20, Dopco Stars batting first scored 274 for 3 wickets. Opener Usman Ali hammered a whirlwind century (146 in 61 balls) studded with 14 sixes and 10 fours as other opener Nadeem smashed 73 in 28 balls and together they put a record first wicket partnership of 197 runs in 90 balls. Shoaib remained unbeaten on 17 off 9 balls. Akram, Hashim and Rashid took a wicket each.
Usman Gems in response were stranded at 221 for 8 as Babar scored 33, Aijab Butt 31, Rashid Malik 28, Usman Ali 27, Zubaid 24 and Yasser 26. Adnan took 2-32, Mehboob 2-42 as Shoaib, Khurram and Javed had a wicket each.
In the second match, Zultrack batting against Crown Steel crumbled to 124 all out. Adnan made 31, Sohail 28 and Moiz 15. Hammad Saeed grabbed 4-16, Abu Huraira 2-21 as Zaheer, Hussain Bhatti, Babar and Abid took a piece each.
In response, Crown easily chased the target in 12 overs after losing two wickets for 127 runs. Hammad Saeed scored 29 and Amer Sajjad 30 and Abid remained unbeaten on 38 and Shafeeq 14 not out.
In the Afternoon session, Arif Gymkhana plundered 223 for 1 against Contraco as opener Imran smashed 18 fours to remain unbeaten on 97 as Shahzad made 50 and Iftikhar 34 n.o.
Contraco, in response, scored 213 for 6 and lost by slender margin of 10 runs as Irfan scored 69 in 39 balls and Maqsood made 48. Arsalan grabbed 2-35 and Ajlan 2-39.
Pak Makkah XI batting first scored 205 for 3 against Nestle Milo as Yassir stroked 67 not out in 34 balls, Rizwan made 46 and Faisal 41 as Umair remained unbeaten on 25. Naseer took 2-30.
Nestle Milo chased the target easily after losing only one wicket for 206 as opener Faheem blasted 100 in 52 balls studded with 4 sixes and 14 fours and Awais hit unbeaten 83 and together they added 168 for the first wicket.
In the second encounter, My Care Blue put up 180 for 8 as Amjad made 57 (6x4, 4x6) and Ramzan 20. Yusuf grabbed 3-34 and Ataullah 2-27.
Jotun Paints chasing the target were home with 181 for 5 with Sharif scoring 37, Shafeeq 33 as Mazher and Imran had identical figures of 27. Amjad took 2-39.
In the last match of the day Usman Gems Green scored 165 for 9 as Kashan hit 71 (8 fours and a six) and Tauheed made 21. Saboor took 5 wickets for 21 runs.
AMI Juffali, in response, scored 157 for 4 as Imad hit 58 in 36 balls and Nadeem made 36 to get to the victory target. Abdul Qadeer grabbed 3
