Batsmen dominate in WPCA tournament

Nestle Milo's Aftab Khan and Amir Shahzad produced 187 runs together for a 10-wicket victory over Desert Lions in the Western Province Cricket Association Championship.
In the Premier League, Usman Gems bundled out Dopco Stars for 118 with Shahbaz making a fighting 50. Hashim Khan took 3-15, Zahid 2-18 and Amir Sajjad 2-23. Nadeem Butt (61 not out) and Amir Sajjad (44) put an unbroken 111 for the second wicket to win the match.
AOT GFC, batting against MY Care Hala, piled up 184-8 as Naeem Shah and Qaim Ali scored 41 each. Faheem Afrad had 2-36 and Kashif Shafeeq 2-38. For My Care Hala, Kashif Shafeeq hammered 10 fours and 3 sixes before he was stumped for 78. Later Nadeem Amin (31) played sensibly to reach 185-4 in 18.4 overs. Qaim Ali got 2-23.
In the afternoon matches, Mehmood Saeed thrashed AMI Juffali by 7 wickets as Aqeel smashed an unbeaten 97 and Niyaz made 40 to put up a total of 164-3. Shoaib took 2-38. Earlier, AMI Juffali posted 162-5 with only Sufian making 71. Amjad scalped 2-13 and Faheem 2-31.
Atlas Cricket Club lost to Nestle Milo. Awais made an unbeaten 83 and Faheem hit 52 not out to get to the target of 140 without losing a wicket in response to 138 set by Atlas CC where Imran Nasir and Irfan scored identical 40 not out. Fayyaz grabbed 2-19 and Abdullah 2-20.
MCC batting first against Desert Lions Srilankans racked up 249-3 in 18 overs as a rampaging Aftab Khan hammered 115, Amir Shahzad blasted 60 not out and Asif Khan hit 30. Desert Lions were all out for 121. Nimath made 32. Asif Khan took 4-12.
Jotun Paints using the track first against Safa Al Bawadi was bowled out for 161 as Yasser took 5-12 runs and Shakeel 2-42. Shabbir made 47 and Hassan 24. In reply Safa Al-Bawadi was stranded at 151-6 as Shehzad scalped 2-20 and Saleem Butt took 2-33. Umair remained not out on 40.
Arif Gymkhana went down to Contraco by 3 wickets. Arif Gymkhana tallied 149-6 with Naveed making 29. Fakhar claimed 2-21. Contraco was home with 151-7 with 10 balls to spare. Asif and Zahid took 2 wickets each.
