Our past had not been easy ......It is the closest Arab past if compared with the major big countries in regard to the population and area. It is even that some of those countries had forerun our country by no less than a hundred years in regard to gaining some Western development patterns while we had been, as everybody knows, living a Bedouin or rural life that had been underdeveloped completely. During an earlier meeting, I mentioned that the past young man, such as few decades ago but not hundreds of years of course, had jumped from using the camel, which had been the transport mean at that time, towards using the car and from the simple clergyman's school towards the age of universities. Let's consider other similar examples such as moving from the clay house to the modern villa, the availability of the engineers and doctors and knowing what the word "capital" means. However, isn't it decent to keep some images of that past to show them to the new generation which is overwhelmed by the aspects of development? I have been to "Dekhna" tens of times since the beginning of this year and I had in my mind the idea of finding the first house I lived in with my mother, God's mercy be upon her, when I was a child, in addition to buying it now but I did not find it. I could not even find any of the five houses that we had rented at that time! "Dekhna" and its surrounding areas had been subject to modernization that changed them and made them better places for living. However, it would have been better if a part of Dekhna's neighborhood or any part of its surrounding area has been reserved. Houses of such places used to be desired ones during that "clay" time. We need to keep such houses for representing the reality of our life during that recent past time. On the other hand, I considered that I am lucky when I managed to have a look at the palace of King Abdul Aziz. Standing before the dwelling place of this man who is historically great is like standing before a reality which represents the start of one's move towards his Arab and Islamic distinguished present. However, I have a remark in regard to the presence of those who go that place as most of them are not local people. The remark is that their presence needs coordination for clarifying what had been meant by the divisions, in addition to clarifying the difference between the administrative buildings and the residential ones. King Abdul Aziz, God's mercy be upon him, is not just a ruler who practiced power for a while and then departed. The issue is much more than that due to that his start had been the start of this modern economic, political and social development that no one had been dreaming of at that time. King Abdul Aziz is not like any other ruler in the world who just passes what is related to him as this is what represents the difference between him and them. He is a man of a historical establishment of various purposes as he had not headed towards hostilities conflict the way that most areas of Arab peninsula had been suffering from. He had been a farsighted man who applied the rules of mind rather than the rules of power that other rulers adopted. Thus, he managed to provide us with this reality which is honorable in all aspects. At this stage, I believe that the place mentioned should be provided with information sites which include important briefings about his history and its stages, in addition to comparing between how he had started and how the state had become when he departed. Another issue is that why the site's corners have not been provided with distinguished cafes and restaurants that can provide the visitors with comfortable sitting opportunities.
