Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, currently on a visit to China, met in Beijing yesterday with Chinese Senior Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, especially in the areas of energy, industry and mineral resources, in addition to completion of arrangements for the visit of the Chinese Vice Premier to the Kingdom next week, to participate in the second round of meetings of the top level Saudi-Chinese Joint Committee. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of China are strategic partners in the sense of the word, and the bilateral relations between the two countries have been greatly strengthened and entered a new phase," Gaoli said, in a statement he made, on the occasion of the meeting. For his part, Al Falih said: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia highly values its longstanding friendship with the Republic of China and will work hard to harmonize China's Road and Belt with its Vision 2030, as the latter has a promising future and ambitious ideas that include all economic, cultural and other activities, in addition to tireless and sincere efforts, which will lead to the great good for the peoples of the two friendly countries, and indeed of many peoples of the world" he concluded.
