Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China and Member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Zhang Gaoli received here today Prince Saud Bin Abdullah Bin Thunyan AL Saud, Chairman of SABIC and Chairman of Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. During the meeting, Zhang expressed his appreciation of the strong ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China describing the visit he paid to the Kingdom in 2011 and his meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques as unforgettable. The vice premier also complimented the successful economic and trade partnerships between his country and the Kingdom saying "most of our petroleum and petrochemical needs are met by our imports from Saudi Arabia and the yearly trade exchange between our two countries amount to US 70 Billion". For his part, Prince Saud extended his thanks to the vice premier for his hospitality praising at the same time the unique relations between the two countries. He also cited King Abdullah last visit to China as historic in the sense that it has strengthened bilateral ties as well as paved the way for more partnerships between the Kingdom and China. Prince Saud officially opened the company's state-of-the-art SABIC Technology Center (STC) in Shanghai which marks another significant milestone for SABIC in China. The new STC in Shanghai will be leading the development for portable consumer electronics, working closely with OEMs across the globe. It will also focus on developing next-generation innovative technologies and solutions to help our customers address some of the most pressing issues in China and the region across major industry sectors including Construction, Clean Energy, Electrics and Electronics, Medical Devices, Transportation.
