Ayoon wa Azan (Iran and the Plans for War Against It)
Published in AL HAYAT on 03 - 05 - 2010

History is repeating itself, and since the winners are the ones who write it, Arabs and Muslims have only their readings of history, but without learning anything. In the 1990s, the Israeli lobby in the United States tried to convince the George H.W. Bush administration to march on Baghdad and impose a president. The evil Likud cabal tried it again, with Bill Clinton in 1996, and in 1999, and wrote a report calling for the toppling of the regime in Iraq. It sent a letter to the president, urging him to take action against the Saddam Hussein regime. Once again, the American president refused to drag his country into a war for Israel.
Then came 11 September 2001, when the occupant of the White House was an ignorant imbecile who used to be addicted to alcohol and drugs. The Israeli lobby had its opportunity and the result was a destructive war that killed 4,500 Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.
The war was important because it destroyed a big Arab country that was rich and had an educated and capable people, which meant it represented a (false) threat to Israel, and because it resulted in the theft of the country's oil. However, even more important was that the Israeli cabal of Jewish American Likudniks and bought-for American lawmakers diverted attention from the peace process, to create a situation more important than peace between the Palestinians and Israel, as American forces fought, and lost, on two fronts, after the 1990s had almost produced a peace agreement.
Today, history is repeating itself, in the form of a confrontation with Iran, as sought by Israel and its American cabal. We read about Iran being an existential threat to Iran, and in fact a threat to world peace and the United States itself.
This lie is as big as the one about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and ties to al-Qaida, for the same reasons. A war with Iran begins with an Israeli or American military strike, or a confrontation via Hizbullah and Syria. This is in order to wreck the peace process for the second decade of this century, as in the first, with Israel escaping the pressures of the black American president who is as smart as Bill Clinton, in trying to do what benefits his country, and not what benefits Israel.
There is no second or third explanation for the fright stirred up about the Iranian bugbear. Israel alone is one thousand times stronger than Iran, and can wipe it off the map in a nuclear confrontation, and not the other way around. The strength of the US is beyond comparison; America is in the 21st century while Iran is in the 19th, in terms of strength, and political understanding and practice.
Nonetheless, Israel's Independence Day celebrations on the 19th of this month (which is another lie, according to false Hebrew calculations, as we commemorate the Nakba on the 15th of May) will be an opportunity to practice incitement against Iran and pressure the Obama administration, so that it does not pressure Israel.
There are obvious reasons for the anxiety in Israel and among the American Likud, about Barack Obama's position on Israel. He visited Turkey and Egypt and has not visited Israel; there has been an American media campaign about this point alone, calling on the US president to visit Israel.
Seventy-six members of the Senate signed a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, urging support for Israel as it combines falsehoods and a sacrifice of US interests. The letter says that Israeli-Palestinian negotiations have been frozen for a year, which goes against 16 years of US policy. In fact, the negotiations have been frozen for ten years, and specifically since the war criminal Ariel Sharon came to power. George W Bush did not talk about peace negotiations, a solution, the Road Map, and the Annapolis conference and other items until he was defeated by terror (and the resistance) in Iraq. There were never any real negotiations, but talk about negotiations. Today, the Likud is leading a government of war criminals in Israel, and no negotiations are possible.
Due to the constraints of journalism, I can only sum things up; the letter to Clinton was sought after by Senator Barbara Boxer, a Democrat from California, and Johnny Isakson, a Republican from Georgia, both of whom are pro-Israeli and represent Israeli interests. Senator Charles Schumer, who is also a pro-Israeli and represents Israel from New York, decided to go even further than the letter he signed. During an interview on the program hosted by a fellow extremist Jew, Nachum Seagal, Schumer threatened the administration and said it had a worryingly biased and negative stance on Israel.
These are all traits that apply to Israel and its supporters. However, the most important thing in the exchange of adjectives is that American lawmakers claim “the unbreakable relationship” with Israel represents the path to peace with the Palestinians, even though this relationship, over the decades, has not brought about peace, but rather killed women and children in Palestine, and then Americans, and Iraqis, and Muslims even in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The Israeli lobby knows this and knows that Barack Obama is like Bill Clinton, not George W. Bush. Therefore, there is Iran, and plans to launch war against it, which will destroy the region over the heads of its people, who do nothing except watch history unfold. I have removed the world “read,” because I remember that they do not read.
