Ayoon wa Azan (Is It a Crime to Say This?)
Published in AL HAYAT on 02 - 01 - 2012

The Jewish people are an amazing mix. They have some of the best people, who defend the rights of Palestinians better than the Palestinians themselves. And they have some of the most fascist, racist people, who incite people to murder, or do it themselves, from the Israeli lobby and the pro-Likud types in every country to the extremist government of Israel, which is engaged in neo-Nazism.
The campaigns of extremist Jews never stop for a single day. But they always become fiercer around 29 November of every year, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which has been organized by the United Nations every year since 1977. I have encountered many articles attacking the UN and its various agencies, especially the Human Rights Council, which are too many to mention in this column. I will only say that the UN is made up of the countries of the world, and has declared this opinion, and a huge majority has supported the Palestinians and their rights.
To be very brief:
-Last month, President Obama was being sycophantic to the extremist Jews at a Jewish conference and said his administration was the one that had helped Israel the most (as its government kills women and children, displaces people and occupies territory). However, the "artist" Caroline Glick, an American-Israeli who is loyal to Israel only, wrote an article in The Jerusalem Post that accused American officials of holding Israel responsible for every mistake; I say that Israel is responsible, but American officials do not hold it responsible.
Glick was so outrageous that she attacked Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, who talked a few days earlier about his country's “unshakable ties” with Israel, and that Israel is of the "three pillars" of the Middle East policy of the United States. She attacked Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who would not have become a senator for New York without her enduring support for Israel, which she has taken with her to the State Department.
-The pro-Likud extremist Frank Gaffney supported the war on Iraq and supports a war against Iran, which means that he is covered in sin, as the Torah says, and covered in blood, as I say. He had the nerve to write an article entitled "Stealth Jihad in the Senate," even though the US Senate tries to outbid the Knesset in it support for Israeli crimes.
-In the pro-Likud Washington Times, Shaun Waterman went even further, entitling his article "Terrorists said to be infiltrating (the American) military," which is impossible.
-Professor Asad Abu Khalil, the author of The Angry Arab, was attacked by a pro-Likud website, and his crime was championing my slogan: Victory for Arab revolutions and seeing the United States leave the Middle East. This is an opinion, and is a holy right for those who hold it, and the occupation is a crime.
I have a number of articles in which Jewish extremists attack Jewish moderates whom they consider stupid; they attack Jewish same-sexers who support the Palestinians. However, I would like to turn to others Jews, who I find to be the best people.
One day last month, I received from these people a letter and a reference to a Youtube video.
The letter was from the Israeli peace advocate and Professor Nurit Peled, addressed to around 100 people. In it, she supports the campaign by the Palestinian Human Rights Center to help 450 Palestinian patients in the Gaza Strip, including 15 children, who are suffering from life-threatening ailments amid a lack of necessary equipment to save them.
Youtube showed the message from an Israeli woman who told President Obama that as an advocate for changing the world, she suggested that he come to Israel, to help the Israelis change themselves and stop dominating another people. She spoke about the occupation in the same manner as a Palestinian mother would, caught between the soldiers of the Israeli government and the extremist settlers.
I would not have written about this, had it not been for the horrible campaign against the American ambassador to Belgium, Howard Gutman, who said that there is a small number of anti-Semites in Europe who do not hate only the Jews, but also Muslims, gays and Gypsies. He attributed the hatred between Jewish and Muslim communities in Europe to the continuing dispute between Israel and the Palestinians.
Is saying this a crime? Even though Gutman is from a family of Holocaust victims, the Israel lobby and the pro-Likud American media have all asked for his dismissal. So have Mitt Romney and Newt Gingirch, who want to be the next US president, along with all of the other terrorists and their supporters.
When we talk about the war criminals in the Israeli government and their supporters, I hope that Arabs and Muslims do not forget the other Jews, who are advocates of peace.
