The Minister of Culture and Information, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Muhaydin Khoja inaugurated here on Saturday evening Uzbekistan's Cultural Days. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prince Turki Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Culture and Information.Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Khoja said, ''We, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, consider the establishment of cultural relations, whether between the Kingdom and the Republic of Uzbekistan or other countries, as an extension to the call of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud for dialogue among followers of religions and civilizations in support of rapprochement between peoples for narrowing the gap between them. We fully believe that cultural roles have great importance in enhancing communications between the peoples of the world''.In a press statement following the ceremony, Dr. Khoja said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will hold Saudi Cultural Days in Uzbekistan. On his part, Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Bakhodir M. Akhmedov commended in his speech, the existing bilateral relations, noting that the exchanges of visits between Saudi and Uzbek officials are aimed at enhancing relations in trade, economic and cultural fields. The ceremony was attended by Deputy of Ministry of Culture and Information for Information Affairs Dr. Abdullah Al-Jasser; the Ministry's Assistant Deputy for Engineering Affairs Dr. Riyadh Najm; Director General of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Abdullah bin Fahad Al-Hussain; the Ministry's Deputy for International Cultural Relations Eng. Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al-Moghailith; and a number of officials of the Ministry.
