The International Oil and Gas Conference, organized by Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA), started here today with the participation of more than 250 delegates from different countries and major companies operating in oil and gas sectors around the world. Eng. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led the delegation of the Kingdom which serves as a guest of honor of the conference. Addressing the gathering, Al-Naimi reviewed the situation in the international oil market, the role played by Saudi Arabia in the stability of oil markets, the future and development of oil and gas industry in the world, and a number of issues pertaining to environment. He lauded the close cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Australia in the fields of environment and innovative oil and gas technologies. He focused on the importance of technology in the formation of renewed energies including solar. He pointed out that the Kingdom is playing an important role in all these aspects through providing unlimited capabilities for cooperation between the two friendly countries.
