Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Ali Al-Naimi met here today with US Energy Secretary Steven Chu and the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they reviewed issues pertaining to energy, petroleum and international oil market and other related topics. Eng. Al-Naimi said the meeting comes within the framework of the existing coordination and cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the US in the field of petroleum and energy. He noted that the US is the biggest country in terms of petroleum consumption and import, while the Kingdom is the biggest oil exporting country, adding that the two countries are linked with close cooperation in this respect and in the domains of petroleum investments, scientific and technical cooperation as well as the international cooperation in the field of petroleum and energy. Al-Naimi pointed out that they reviewed the current situation at the oil market and aspects of cooperation in the field of carbons, sciences,, technology, education and training. --SPA We have agreed on the importance of bilateral meetings between the two countries in the field of patrolman and energy, he said.
