Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed, Deputy President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has pioneered the approach of sustainable development at the national level to achieve the preservation of the environment, pointing out to the proposal of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for establishing OPEC Fund for Studying Environmental Impacts to which the Kingdom contributed $300 million. During a speech he delivered before the Saudi International Conference for Environmental Technology organized by KACST and patronized by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Turki said that the field of preservation of the environment is one of the sensitive fields accorded by the Saudi government.He also highlights KACST's efforts in this side. The three-day conference is set to discuss all aspects of environmental technology developments, including waste, soil contamination and necessary remedies, air pollution and air quality, climate change impacts and proposed solutions besides various technology strategic issues that concern the Kingdom.
