day Second Gulf Environment Forum (GEF) will begin here May 29, Prince Turki Bin Nasser Abdul Aziz, chief of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME), said Sunday. Addressing a press conference here, Prince Turki said the forum will be held under the patronage of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The forum, organized by the Saudi Environmental Society with cooperation of Dr. Hani Bin Mohammed Bin Ahmed Abu Ras, Mayor of Jeddah, and Prof. Osama Sadiq Tayeb, President of King Abdulaziz University, and BME Global (an international business events organizers). The forum's focus, Prince Turki said, will be on clean, renewable energy, waste management, sustainable development, green building and water waste sector, waste management solutions in the Kingdom, importance of cleanliness of air and sea of the Gulf region and the support of the technology for their cleanliness, effects of mines and their solutions, opportunity for investment in environmental projects, financing for the environ projects in Saudi Arabia and Gulf region, water department of Saudi Arabia. Besides Prince Turki, key speakers at the forum will be Prince Nawwaf Bin Abdul Aziz, Executive Director of Saudi Environmental Society; Prince Saud Bin Thunayyan Al-Saud, Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu; and Ali Al-Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
