Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Qattan, Saudi ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League, said that Saudi Arabia and Egypt have signed on a memorandum of understanding to provide $500 million as aid to Egypt in different sectors of Egyptian economy. In a statement issued today, Qattan added that the both sides have signed a memorandum of understanding as a deposit worth $1 billion at the Egypt's central bank. A request to export $250 million worth of butane gas from Saudi Arabia to Egypt has been completed. The Saudi ambassador highlighted that measures to fund $200 million worth of small and medium projects have been completed. "These assistance came within the framework of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's keenness to support Egypt and its stability," Qattan said.
