"At about 22.20 on Friday, when police tried to stop a VAZ-2109 car for checking documents, the car driver threw a grenade in the direction of law enforcers and opened pistol fire," a spokesman for the Interior Ministry said. According to him, the car caught fire as a result of return fire. Later on, the burnt body of a man and a Makarov pistol were found in the car. There are no victims among the law enforcers. According to investigators, the car belonged to a resident of Makhachkala. The identity of the attacker is being established.
