An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale shook the western part of Lampung province on Thursday evening. The quake which struck at 06.24 p.m. was centered 5.89 degrees southern latitude and 103.56 degrees eastern longitude or 109 km southwest of West Lampung at a depth of 10 km, ANTARA quoted the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) as saying in its official website. There was no immediate report of material damage or casualties. Thursday's quake came a day after a 8.5-magnitude undersea quake struck Simeulue waters in Indonesia's western most province of Aceh at 3:38 p.m. on Wednesday.
