An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale shook Krui, West Lampung, on Tuesday at 7.57 a.m. local time. The quake's epicenter was located at 7.00 degrees southern latitude, 103.33 degrees eastern longitude at a depth of 10 below sea level, ANTARA quoted the National Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) as saying. The temblor which did not have the potential to trigger tsunami was also located 230 kilometers southwest of Liwa, Lampung; 241 kilometers from Ujungkulon, Banten Province; 245 kilometers southwest of Bintuhan, Bengkulu Province; and 399 kilometers southwest of Jakarta.
