The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session which was held at his residence in Rawdhat Khuraim today. At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the discussions, contacts and messages he made during the last few days with a number of leaders of brotherly and friendly countries and State envoys on the latest developments at regional and international arenas in addition to aspects of cooperation and ways of enhancing them in all fields. These include the audiences he held for President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi of Yemen and the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, said the Cabinet reviewed the latest developments at Arab, regional and international arenas, welcoming, in this regard, the decisions issued by the 23rd Arab Summit held in Baghdad which discussed a number of issues concerning the Arab world. Dr. Khoja said the Cabinet discussed the statement issued at the end of the First GCC-U.S. Ministerial Meeting of Strategic Cooperation Forum held in Riyadh early this week. In this regard, the Cabinet hailed the convening of the forum, which aims at setting an official framework for mutual strategic cooperation in political, military, security and economic fields between the two sides. The Cabinet also lauded the forum's statement concerning Syria particularly its denunciation of killings and violence committed by the Syrian regime, stressing the need to put an end to all acts of violence in Syria in addition to reiterating its support for the mission of Kofi Annan, U.N.-Arab League Joint Envoy on Syria, and its appeal to all states which have direct relationships with the Syrian regime to support the efforts of the international community to resolve the crisis in Syria.
