Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh discussed today with International Middle East Peace Quartet Envoy Tony Blair the latest developments in the region and peace-making efforts. Judeh and Blair tackled the outcome of the recent exploratory meetings held in Amman between the Palestinian and Israeli sides under the auspices of Jordan in a bid to break the deadlock in the peace process. They stressed the importance of making all necessary efforts by all concerned parties, including the Quartet to push the Palestinian and Israeli sides to direct negotiations to arrive at the two-state solution based on international legitimacy resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative and the Quartet statement issued on September 23. The meeting is part of continuous consultation and coordination with all concerned parties, including the International Quartet and the Arab Peace Initiative Committee to assess the outcome of Amman meetings.
