Talks aiming at reviving Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations got underway in Amman, Jordan, Tuesday, dpa reported. Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh met at the Foreign Ministry with Middle East envoy Tony Blair and representatives of the Quartet - an international group composed of the United States,European Union, United Nations and Russia and focused on peace in the region. Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat and Israeli envoy Yitzhak Molcho were scheduled to join the meeting at the Jordanian Foreign Ministry later, their first face-to-face encounter since September 2010, when the Palestinian Authority withdrew from the negotiations after Israel refused to extend a 10-month settlement freeze. Tuesday's meeting, hosted by Jordan's King Abdullah II and the Quartet, is not an official negotiating session. -- SPA
