German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle encouraged Greeks on Sunday to continue their economic reform programme, and assured German support, during a visit to Athens, dpa reported. "I want to make clear to the Greek public that we certainly expect reforms, but also recognize the huge achievements," Westerwelle said after meeting Greek Prime Minister Lucas. "Europe and Greece belong together. Both nations are convinced Europeans," the foreign minister added. Westerwelle was due later to meet his Greek counterpart Stavros Dimas. Next week, Greece's creditors from the European Union, the International Monetary Fund and the European Central Bank are due in Athens to assess whether to pay further aid tranches to the deeply indebted eurozone member.
