Greece's foreign ministry said that German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will visit Athens Sunday for talks with senior officials, according to AP. A ministry statement Friday said Westerwelle will meet Foreign Minister Stavros Dimas. Westerwelle is also expected to have talks with Prime Minister Lucas Papademos. The visit comes as Greece rushes to complete negotiations with banks and other private holders of its government bonds on a Euro 100 billion ($127 billion) debt writedown, ahead of a visit by international debt monitors on Monday. The complex negotiations are a key part of Greece's second international bailout, worth an additional Euro 130 billion, to which Germany will be a key contributor. Greece's two-year-old debt crisis has shaken the eurozone and roiled financial markets.
