The State of Qatar will take part in the 72nd conference of the 37th session of GCC Health Ministers Council due to be held in Muscat on January 4 and 5 under the theme 'Confronting non-communicable diseases'. Qatar's delegation to the Conference will be headed by the Minister of Public Health Abdullah bin Khalid Al-Thani who is also Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Health and chairman of the Council's 36th session. The conference will discuss a host of health issues including the latest efforts in the fight against non-communicable diseases, health care quality, patient safety, psychological health, eradication of measles and German measles (rubella) and the development of GCC health cadres and other issues, according to a report of Qatar News Agency (QNA). The Sultanate of Oman will present two working papers on health committees and their role in promoting health services and GCC medicine pricing programme. The conference will be preceded by a preparatory meeting by the council's executive authority to review preparations for the 37th session and the 72nd conference of GCC health ministers.
