Japanese stocks saw their first gains in three trading days Monday as investor worries about the eurozone debt crisis were alleviated by a deal European leaders reached last week on tighter budget rules. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average gained 117.36 points, or 1.37 per cent, to close at 8,653.82 while the broader Topix index was up 8.57 points, or 1.16 per cent, at 746.69.
