Japanese stocks dropped 1.4 per cent Tuesday after leading US credit rating agency Standard and Poor's threatened to downgrade several eurozone countries, DPA reported. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 1.39 per cent, or 120.82 points, to close at 8,575.16 while the broader Topix index was down 1.42 per cent, or 10.6 points, at 738.01.
