AlQa'dah 15, 1432, Oct 13, 2011, SPA -- Mahmoud bin Hussein Gattan, the Saudi ambassador to Cameroon, delivered Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's gift worth 96 tons of dates to the World Food Program (WFP) in Cameroon. The delivery ceremony, which took place at the Embassy's premises in Yaoundé, was attended by the World Food Program's representative in Cameroon Jack Roya and Cameroon's media. In a statement to reporters, the Saudi ambassador said this year Saudi Arabia also donated 4,000 tons of dates to the program all over the world, out of which the gift of today was allocated to the program's branch in Cameroon. He noted that Saudi Arabia also donated 100 tons of dates to Cameroon three months ago, in Ramadan, and 8 tons of vaccines and medications to combat cholera last month. For his part, the representative of WFP thanked the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for this gift, stating that part of the donation would be forwarded to the nutrition program allocated for pregnant women in north and far northern parts of Cameroon as well as the school nutrition program.
